2006 Implemented testing process of electronic sub assemblies: Designed arrangement of antennas and RF instrumentation for EMI test of sub assemblies. Designed RF instrument interfaces and RF spectrum data capture format.Created interconnect drawings for custom hardware and test equipment. Solved grounding problems with modifications to existing cables. Result was a common grounding system which could be applied to different sub-assemblies. This saved test setup time. Chaired meetings with customer to propose and negotiate test plan changes. Result was a test plan which utilized existing test equipment instead of rented equipment, but still met all test requirements.

Managed development of new consumer camera flash circuits: Invented new electronic design for cameras which improved battery power management. This new design achieved a 60% reduction in product cost and resulted in a design patent.Managed the transfer of new circuit board designs for manufacture in China. Traveled to China to support initial circuit board manufacturing.Oversaw a product quality improvement from 1500 to 20 DPMU (Defects per million units). This was achieved by addressing ESD factors in manufacturing and working with vendors to achieve semiconductor enhancements without increasing cost.

Designed imaging electronics for a high volume digital color printer: Researched image signal processing options, selected integrated circuits and components, designed system and successfully met cost and performance targets. This included digital image file to analog conversion, gain and gamma control stages, signal multiplexing and transient edge shaping. Bread-boarded the design and debugged circuit boards.Searched and selected an OEM supplier for a custom RF high voltage power supply. Developed electrical and mechanical specifications for this supply. Tested and debugged prototype units. Helped supplier lower the cost of the power supply by recommending design changes which would not compromise performance. Wrote an alignment procedure for the system. Wrote user manual instructions. Verified these by trials with technicians. Both were used for the final product.

Co-Engineered a mixed-signal board for the digitization of video from a high definition CCD imager: Utilized analog gain control, A/D conversion, DSP and power supply design. Performed a digital timing analysis, laid out the controlled impedance circuit board (6 layers) and designed a test fixture for the board. Specified an FPGA and programmed it to generate synchronization pulses. Designed and assisted fabrication of a test fixture for the board.
