I am a very diverse individual all year long. My activities seem to carry from one to another with very little cross over. I go to work each day and put in a 40 hour+ week and then do lots of volunteer things. I am a church member in Va Beach - Kempsville Baptist. I work a lot as a volunteer with the city of VB in Emergency training to the public but yet do a lot of events and activities with the Fire, Police and Emergency Management. My leadership skills are good. I have quite a bit of FEMA certification through online classes and carry the ICS 400 level in leadership. I am familiar with the city of VB in location of buildings and neighborhoods and work well in the EOC and at the Fire/EMS Training building and grounds. I carry FCC Certification - EXTRA in ham radio and very active. Several Board of Directors current and over the years with lots of leadership in those Boards. I like doing hands on and leading my friends and co-workers in special events for the city of VB. I carry a city radio at all times and I know how to use it.

Member Board Of Directors / Emergency OperationsVa Beach Amateur Radio Club 2008 - PresentI am a hame radio operator holding the highest license class there is (Extra). I use my radio skills during emergencies and routine dad to day communications. This is an upgrade from my days as a CXB radio operator. Now I put my radio skills to use and help the people of VB year round and special events year round. Some of these are Shamrock Marathon, Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon, YMCA Mud Run, 911 Run at SportsPlex, Tidewater Striders' runs in the city and others.

We use the Great Neck Rec Center as our location. We clean the rooms used, cover them in plastics, set up 200 dog and 200 cat cages and then register and support the animals during their time with us.

Event StaffUsbands (Yea, Inc,) Aug 2006 - PresentI work with a group of dedicated individuals that provide competition locations and structure to hold high school marching band events. Each Saturday up and down the east coast I drive to the site help set up and run the event and then clean up and return home. Average day is 20 hours including avg. drive time of 3 to 4 hours each way. I work either as Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator or the Tabulator of the scores to see who wins. This happens for 10 weeks each Fall (Aug to Nov)

I put in approx. 100 hours of volunteer time each month doing logistics, webmastering, setting up courses and helping in all manners of the job. We handle 1300 volunteers in the city for special events and emergencies. I am busy 3 out of the 4 weekends each month yearlong. We work closely with the Dept of Fire Services, Police and the Office of Emergency Management. I carry a city radio to use each day and at all events.
