Douglas E. Harris is a former Managing Director and Senior Adviser in the New York office of Promontory Financial Group, an IBM Company, where he advised banks, hedge funds, swap dealers, futures commission merchants, derivatives clearing organizations, securities clearing agencies and other types of financial institutions on regulatory, compliance, risk management, internal controls, derivatives and capital markets matters.Mr. Harris is a Public Director of the National Futures Association, the self-regulatory organization for the U.S. futures industry, where he is a member of the Audit Committee and Compliance & Risk Committee. He is also a member of the Bar Association of the City of New York; the New York State Bar Association (Structured Products and Derivatives Law Committee); the American Bar Association (Committee on the Regulation of Futures and Derivatives); and the Law & Compliance Division of the Futures Industry Association.Mr. Harris also serves on the advisory board of Tellus Markets Corp, a fintech providing electronic services and data analytics to dealers and end-users in the physical and derivatives energy markets.Mr. Harris has previously served as a member of the CFTC's Global Markets Advisory Committee and Technology Advisory Committee.
