Douglas Fleming’s research focuses on ESL, citizenship and post-structural critical pedagogy. He has over 30 peer-reviewed publications and over 50 peer-reviewed conference presentations. Prior to graduating from UBC with a PhD in 2007, he taught for 18 years for the Toronto and Surrey School Districts. He currently supervises students and teaches courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels that focus on current social and political issues in second language research, ESL methodology, program development, multicultural citizenship, equity and language policy.He received a CCSE New Scholar Fellowship in 2010.
