For almost 8 years, I have worked as a Professor of Clinical Science at Palmer College of Chiropractic-West. There, I have taught, in both lecture and lab, many classes, and made Professor very quickly. The President of the school calls me his "utility player," for when an emergency happens, I can step in and teach any class successfully. My main regular lecture/lab classes include clinical pathology, anatomy (spinal, gross I and gross II), embryology, dermatology, and basic science part I board review. I also lecture on quite a bit of radiology, physiology, biochemistry and histology, as part of my pathology classes. I'm also the Coordinator of Basic Science (which is like the department chair of basic science) for the school and was the Coordinator of Radiology.Unfortunately, a short while ago the school announced that they would be closing down (after 42 years) which has left me scrambling to find another academic position. Teaching is my passion, and I believe that I'm pretty darn good it - just ask my 46,500+ YouTube followers who enjoy watching my educational videos which are done on all sorts of academic topics-- I have almost 200 videos as of 5/4/22. [Just Google "Gillard + anatomy," and that will bring my YouTube channel right up].I have also worked for the Steadman Philippon Research Institute where I was employed as the Spine Research Coordinator and acted as the Director of Spine Research for their surgeon. In this position, I was constantly writing medical papers (I'm published in SPINE), abstracts, utilization review rebuttals and more. I've always enjoyed staying up-to-date with the medical literature database and would enjoy finding employment as a medical writer, if something pops up.I also have a busy Zoom Coaching Service, where I speak to clients from all over the world who have complex spinal conditions (most often failed spinal surgeries) and need advice with regard to evidence-based treatment options. Most of my clients come from my educational website, ChiroGeek.com, and my YouTube channel.With regard to hobbies, I have fallen in love with bird photography!
