I proudly serve as an on-call or Callman Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician-Basic for the Village of Medina Fire Department. I respond to life threatening emergencies as augmentation to the existing full-time staff from an on-call status or as augmentation for shift work at the fire department. When responding I seamlessly integrate into the full-time crew and may be called upon to operate various fire apparatus including our engines/pumpers, ambulances, watercraft or ladder truck. As a department we respond to a multitude of emergencies ranging from vehicle/structure fires, brush fires, HAZMAT emergencies, to medical emergencies requiring treatment and transportation to area hospitals. Additional duties include providing mentorship and guidance to incoming Callman firefighters as well as assisting the full-time municipal training officer with volunteer training plan development and implementation. In addition to basic firefighter training, I have had the good fortune to be afforded the opportunity to be trained in Low Angle Rope Rescue, Firefighter Assist and Search Team (FAST), HAZMAT response, Pump Operations, and Mercy Flight Ground School.

As a Special Agent/Criminal Investigator for VAOIG, I was responsible for maintaining a current knowledge of all VA program area rules and regulations. Investigations can be anything from civil qui tam investigations to fraud impacting VA to suspicious deaths and homicide. My investigations have included unilateral efforts and complex investigations involving multi-agency teams requiring extensive coordination and relationship building. My position also required cultivating effective relationships with VA officials at all levels, from front line workers to facility and program directors. I also served as an agency instructor and hold certifications from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Use of Force, Active Shooter Threat Response, Control Tactics and Firearms. I was responsible for drafting the agency's current Control Tactics training program. I also had the pleasure of managing the Northeast Region's firearms program, supervising individual office firearms instructors and providing guidance on training, firearm acquisition and distribution, ammunition logistics, range use agreements ,range surveys, and quarterly firearms qualifications for six offices. I am a current Remington and Glock armorer.

As a Special Agent with Secret Service, I conducted complex financial crimes investigations including counterfeit U.S. obligations and securities, credit card fraud, wire fraud, money laundering and identity theft. I also provided education to businesses and the public on fraud trends, identifying fraud and/or counterfeit securities and resources for fraud victims. I also provided protection for various U.S. and foreign dignitaries throughout the United States and multiple other countries. Execution of my protective and investigative duties required extensive coordination and relationship building with federal, state and local agencies; politicians and their political appointees; high ranking military personnel; foreign dignitaries, their staff and their security personnel. During my tenure I operated as a protective intelligence advance agent, counter surveillance advance agent, site advance agent, and lead advance agent. As a site advance, I was responsible for preparation of a protective plan for my assigned site including physical security, manpower, logistics and supervision of assigned special agents, local law enforcement, emergency services and site security. As a lead advance agent I was ultimately responsible for all security preparations and logistics for the duration of the protectee's visit from arrival, travel to and from designated sites, and overall supervision of all security and emergency assets until the protectee's departure. I also served as the Buffalo Field Office Physical Fitness Coordinator.
