Acted as the liaison/guide between all people entering Department of Defense installations and the security requirements of the base. Operated as the command and control entity as a Base Defense Operations Controller by monitoring alarms, communications, and dispatching response forces to incidents.

As part of the engineering department, conducted repair and maintenance of all auxiliary systems (high pressure air, and hydraulic systems) at home port and at sea. Acted as the Damage Control Petty Officer ensuring all firefighting and flood repair equipment was properly maintained and ready for use in emergencies.
