Senior Software Manager (2007 to present) - Management of data plane development of CSR1000v Cloud Services Router platform. This Linux-based product runs in a virtual environment, e.g., VMware ESXI, KVM and XEN hypervisor, on top of a Cisco UCS server or other third party server, and also in the Amazon Web Services environment. Management responsibilities for this position include: • Development of functional areas, including I/O drivers, packet handling infrastructure, feature infrastructure code, and optimizations specific to the x86 architecture. • Optimization of CSR1000v performance across multiple hypervisors and server types for single and multi-tenant configurations. • Development of Quality of Service, Control Plane Policing, and IP header compression features for the Cisco ASR1000 platform, which uses a Cisco proprietary network processor. Led development of QoS features for the ASR900 platform. • Platform Release Lead for CSR1000v and Release Manager for ASR1000.• CSR1000v tools development, including web-based tools to analyze network throughput and code-related metrics (e.g., instructions per packet, cache accesses, etc.). Software Manager (2002 – 2007) – Feature and platform development for the Cisco 7600 SIP-400 distributed line card, including platform/driver, data plane and control plane. SIP-400 was a next-generation network-processor-based line card utilizing the Intel IXP-2800 network processor. Development Release Manager for the Rockies3 Release. Drove Circuit Emulation over Packet on the 7600 platform - the initial introduction of this technology on a Cisco platform. This module has been the highest selling module since 2004 in a platform that had a $1B annual run rate.Software Manager (2000 – 2001) - Managed delivery of data path/microcode feature set on the Cisco Systems C10000 router. Developed the ucode for 802.1q VLAN feature on a Cisco-proprietary network processor.

Manager Satellite Software (1999-2000) – Responsible for software development for Orbcomm’s small packet communications satellites. Principle Software Engineer (1998 – 1999) – Developed software for multiple functional areas within Orbcomm’s network, including satellite DSP code and Gateway Earth Station platform code using C and VxWorks.

Senior Professional Staff - Led development of two fully operational shipboard prototype situational display systems. Project was a risk reduction effort and basis for the production AN/UYQ-70 display systems on all future Navy surface combatant ships. Member of Assistant Secretary of the Navy review team for evaluation of display/compute/networking technology for new ship construction. Personal technical development responsibility included implementing/integrating FDDI and NTDS interfaces in a VxWorks/c environment, including VxWorks boot kernel changes. Project Lead for an embedded communications monitoring system. (Similar to Wire-Shark for an RF Link) Defined requirements for monitoring of data-link signal characteristics, protocol/message monitoring, and overall network information exchange. Managed efforts of staff and contract personnel for development of C++/Unix/Xwindows GUI and VxWorks real-time OS based message and signal processing. Developed I/O and message-processing software in a C/VxWorks environment.
