Software Engineer Iii
As a Software Engineer in Finance, I led Front End development for the Billing and Receivables (BnR) accounting application, using ColdFusion 2018 with an Oracle back end. My duties involved heavy object-oriented ColdFusion code development, which also included JavaScript, SQL, HTML, XML, JSON, CSS, and a ColdFusion framework underpinning.I worked with users, PMs, Business Analysts, and back end developers to capture user requirements, develop design documents, develop all of the code required, deploy the code throughout the testing environments, assist in writing test plans and Requirement Traceability Matrices, respond to testing issues found, and deploy the code to production. I was the Administrator of the 14 ColdFusion servers used by BnR. This involved applying security patches, and configuring all aspects of the CF server (JVM arguments etc), as well as standing up 12 new ColdFusion 2023 servers from clean Windows VMs, configuring all.Notable achievements in this role include:• I installed and configured twelve ColdFusion 2023 servers from Windows VMs, replacing all CF2018 servers in the Accounting Domain, from Development through Production. Installed, configured, and tested the BnR application. Responded to testing and user issues.• I was the lead front end BnR developer for the many changes required by the No Surprises Act of 2022. • Created new accounting functionality across the BnR application including allowing finance users to upload xls files to process thousands of claims and adjustments at a time. Validated the contents of each file, checking individual rows for errors and reporting back to the user. • I mentored a newly-hired HTML developer, and personally trained him to be a ColdFusion developer for 12 months. • I was permanent BnR liaison to the Release Team for our quarterly production releases, creating the CRs (change requests) needed from all parts of our department and coordinating our quarterly software release each quarter.
