Reporting to the shop manager I performed maintenance in support of on-highway equipment, generators, and light plants. Maintenance and service duties were largely carried out in the shop, but occasionally required me going out to the active mine to perform service required.

Co-ordinate with safety officers for audits, and the rare incident reporting/investigations. As a service technician I worked in the track shop (specializing in dozer repairs). Repairs ranged from preventative maintenance, to complete frame-off overhauls in which every component, hose, wire harness is inspected and replaced as required to give the customer an as close to new dozer as possible in a cost effective manner.As a field technician I worked inside an active mine using the haul roads to gain access to the equipment requiring maintenance, this entailed constant communication with the responsible personnel, depending on the extent of service required; I worked alone or as part of a team. Reporting to the branch manager, utilizing a service truck I would drive to customer locations around central Alberta performing maintenance duties on a variety of construction equipment sold by Volvo. Including Graders, Excavators, Articulating Dump Trucks, Back Hoes, Skid-Steers, and Loaders. These duties ranged from simple preventative maintenance, to complete engine swaps. With more extensive repairs being completed at the service centre located in Red Deer.

Reported to the Operations and Maintenance Supervisor; provided journeyman level mechanical work in support of industrial diesel generators and associated equipment including engines, pumps, compressors, radiators, heat exchangers, lube oil systems, fuel oil systems; vehicles both automotive and medium duty in an arctic environment with a small team. Provided emergency response and repair action to power outages when required.
