Doug Orr is the partner in charge of the Houston office for Heidrick & Struggles. Previously he served as the head of the global energy practice, which includes oil & gas, power & utilities, and alternative & renewable energy. For over a decade, Doug has advised clients spanning both publicly traded companies and private equity-backed organizations in the recruitment of Non-Executive Directors, Chief Executive Officers, senior P&L leaders, and Chief Financial Officers within the energy industry. Additionally Doug is an member of the Leadership Consulting Practice within Heidrick & Struggles including assessment & succession planning, executive coaching for both individuals and teams, and culture shaping. He is a certified Executive Coach through Rice University.An active member of his community, Doug currently serves on the board of directors for Eyes On Me, Inc., a faith-based non-profit focused on community transformation within areas of poverty in Houston. Additionally he serves on the Advisory Council for the Energy Workforce & Technology Council, the national trade association for the global energy technology and services sector, representing more than 645,000 U.S. jobs in the technology-driven energy value chain.
