About Douglas Proud
Mechanical engineer with a research background focussed on the application of low-carbon/renewable fuel technologies, passionate about helping to address the key challenges that we are currently facing in the energy transition. My research aims to assess the safety and performance characteristics of existing end-use combustion systems operating on alternative fuel sources, particularly with regards to the use of hydrogen-natural gas blends and 100% hydrogen.As a program coordinator with the Future Fuels CRC, I am responsible for the oversight of a number of research projects aimed at assessing the compatibility of existing and planned network infrastructure with future fuels, such as hydrogen and biomethane. A key aspect of this role is working closely with both researchers and industry/regulatory stakeholders to maximise the practical impact of the research.
