I graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law as first in my class and Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. After graduation I was accepted into the Honors program of the United states Department of Justice and served for fifteen years in the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the Criminal Division. From 1975-1978, I served as Attorney-in-Charge of the Cleveland Strike Force and from 1978-1984, I was Attorney-in-Charge of the Chicago Strike Force. In 1981, I convicted Roy Williams, then the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters of conspiracy to bribe a United States Senator. I am proud that Robert F. Kennedy is the only other Justice Department prosecutor to have convicted a sitting Teamsters President. While at the Justice Department, I earned the highest award given to federal prosecutors. Since leaving the Department, I have concentrated on complex criminal and civil litigation. I successfully argued Dralle v. Ruder in the Illinois Supreme Court, resulting in a significant change in tort law in Illinois. As a criminal defense attorney, I have handled criminal anti-trust, securities fraud, RICO, investment fraud, narcotics, murder, conspiracy and a multitude of other criminal matters.
Listed skills include Criminal Law, Appeals, Litigation, Civil Litigation, and 18 others.
