• Product interface engineer for Cobalt MCM program, discussing concept and solutions since Style sketches with designers to drive manufacturing requirements and potential solutions;• Responsible for addressing manufacturing requirements to product engineers for all program parts development phases;• Responsible for leading the 4Corners work group, which competitors and internal benchmarking vehicles were analyzed and discussed according to their design, assembly solutions, perceptual quality, cost to assembly, etc. ;• Responsible for adding to program Vehicle Excellence Initiatives to reach and exceed company quality targets regarding surface quality, build issues, panel feature lines, etc.;• Lead Critical Interface meetings with all areas to guarantee that product solutions and concepts allow the attendance of company quality at plant floor;

Transferred from the Body Shop Process Engineer department to the CCRW – Controls, Conveyors, Robotics ad Welding group to act as an official Manufacturing Welding Engineer;• As a Regional Welding Engineer and also as the focal Program support person to the region, opportunities to visit all countries in South America and South Africa with GM Plants, which improved Spanish language skills;• Responsible for validating at Struandale Plant (with South Africa welding engineer) the Hummer H3T program, which allowed addition of great welding and assembly process expertise;• Responsible for organizing and preparing all agenda and facilities for a Welding Global Face to Face Workshop at GM do Brasil, having people from all over the World (USA, Germany, South Korea, Venezuela, Columbia, Ecuador, and South Africa) which led to a great amount of global decisions and accomplishments for the company. Besides all technical expertise exchange there was a great opportunity to improve languages skills.• Opportunity due to Welding Engineer responsibility and Process Planning expertise, to travel twice to South Korea with Columbia (2011) and Ecuador (2012) plant people to support them at LG VN-S which would supply them a complete Body in White Main line.

• Manufacturing Process Planning Engineer for the New Vectra Motor Compartment Main line at Body Shop; main challenge was to receive all sub-assemblies (Longitudinal Front, Dash, and Front Panel) and join them in a mix of manual/automatic assembly line. The Motor Compartment in that program was particularly important because due to product concept, that assembly drove all vehicle front (Hood, head lamps, fascia) dimensional and quality;• Responsible for developing a new plant lay out (manual operations over a platform) so that the automatic Respot line could have all robots on the ground with smaller robot bases. Plan and supervise the spot weld distribution across the assembly line, as well as some hard ergonomics issues due to very special welding guns to reach all the spot welds;• First program to have a new Program Gate Requirement called Run at Rate, which consisted in running for two hours the whole Body Shop to identify all process issues, material handling difficulties, etc.;• Huge welding issues in the beginning of plant installation and welding validation tests, due to huge Front Longitudinal thicknesses and some special materials applied to the product.

• The Chevrolet Meriva was the first global program I participated, and it was really special because it was the first one developed by GM do Brasil and OPEL but it was launched first in Brazil.• Due to welding knowledge and manufacturing process skills got a huge responsibility in developing and installing the first Roof Laser Assembly Cell in the GM South America Region. For learning about the Laser welding process it was scheduled some training in Germany (Laser equipment supplier), OPEL plants and also some workshops in the USA about it. That allowed contact with a great number of global people;• Plan a Laser Welding Assembly cell for a low volume product in a plant that produced in the Body Shop six different models from three platforms was a risky but necessary goal;• Laser Welding Cell integration was made by Comau Italy, which drove to start an Italian language course.

• Manufacturing Process Engineer responsible for planning the Rear Compartment and all its sub-assemblies fort Corsa Pick Up, called Montana. Product was exclusively developed in Brazil, for regional market, and by that I a lot of contact with Style Designers and Product Engineers was required;• The main issues were regarding welding parameters and welding quality due to sheet metal thickness and stack up values. At that time a Master degree at University of Sao Paulo was on going, and due to that the conclusion paper was decided to go through a welding topic. That led to get a role of Welding Engineer for GM do Brasil and for All GM South America Plants, in addition to process planning roles.

• Responsible for Motor Compartment Assembly area, including all sub-assemblies that would also be built at Sao Jose dos Campos Plant, for the Corsa Program Hatch Back and Sedan models;• The initial process planning was done by Hiramatsu Corporation from Japan, and as process planning engineer there was the responsibility of validating all assembly process planning, regarding automation level, production output, operators ergonomics, equipment specification, conveyors, lay out, assembly sequence, material handling, etc.;• Product Specification came from OPEL AG, and some modifications were done to meet Brazilian legal requirements, so had to contact OPEL engineers several times to discuss these modifications, as well as to understand some product specification.• A great challenge to implement this program was that all production goals and quality targets were compared to Germany plants and their numbers. These program were a great success in the Brazilian market. • Jan 1999- jan 2000: Process Planning Engineer - Chevrolet S10 Face Lift at Sao Jose dos Campos Plant• Manufacturing Process Engineer responsible for planning, welding fixtures construction supervising, equipment specification and purchasing, supplier follow up and technical discussions for the Radiator Support area for S10 2001 face lift program;• Great challenge at that time that the 2000-current model would continue being assembled in the same area, so all process should consider both models, what drove to some restricted conditions in the assembly process planning.

• Process Engineer first international assignment for GM do Brasil in Argentina, city of Cordoba;• Responsible for Silverado Grand Blazer Body Sides Assembly area at Body Shop;• Traveled to Cordoba twice a month during 8 months, staying there two weeks each trip, working full time at GM plant• Manufacturing Process Engineer responsible for Body Assemblies quality, ergonomics (manual process), process safety, production cell output and program timing attendance• For this assignment Spanish language skills were added in a regular language school.

• Started at GM do Brasil in August 14th, 1996 at Manufacturing Engineering department, working as a Manufacturing Process Engineer - Body Shop• Worked at Truck plant in Sao Jose dos Campos by planning the BIW welding and assembly process for GM Trucks Kodiak (GMT530) and Isuzu-based truck GMT455 (product drawings were received from USA and Japan);• Responsible for planning all the assembly sequence, as well as all welding guns and assembly fixtures development , leading the program through GM Tooling and Construction department;• Responsible for all welding and assembling equipment specification, purchasing, following up with supplier and plant installation coordination;• Responsible for Manufacturing Validation Build (MVB) and Start of Regular Production (SORP) quality targets and production output goals at program.
