Trained in Split Frame Portable Lathes: Tri Tool, Wachs. Bridge Slides, Counterboring, Cutting and Beveling. Further training in Tri Tool Bevelmaster 224b: Facing, Beveling.

The field work I am involved with is primarily in support of extraction and replacement of pipe in the Nuclear and Rocketry fields. I am skilled with the use of the Tri Tool 600 series clamshells, the 200 Series Bevelers and their Miter Mandrel adaptive attachments. I am also skilled with case cutting equipment in support of the Natural Gas Sector.

My day to day responsibilities include, deburring a wide range of parts in support of Tri Tool's Manufacturing process for their Portable Machining line of products and maintaining a clean and highly functional work environment. This involves the use of air die grinders, pedestal buffers, grey wheels, flat sanding stones, barrel sanders, carbide bit pencil grinders, media tumblers, sand blasting, cross buff pads, and split mandrel sanders. In that process I am always assessing parts and working on best practice strategies for quality and work flow improvement. I often times have to make tools in order to facilitate a new technique to deburr parts accurately and efficiently.

My responsibilities included deburring a wide range of parts in support of Schilling Robotics' Manipulator Arms and ROV Manufacturing process. This involved the use of air die grinders, pedestal buffers, grey wheels, flat sanding stones, barrel sanders, carbide bit pencil grinders, media tumblers, sand blasting, cross buff pads, and split mandrel sanders. In that process I was always assessing parts with on site engineers and quality assurance technicians to achieve high quality tolerance of parts.

My responsibilities cover the full range of producing custom orthotics based on Pediatrists prescriptions. Jobs that I am responsible for: Plaster pouring of patients' positive plaster casts. Platforming and balancing of the plaster positive. Pressing of thermoplastic materials over positive plaster cast. Rough grinding of thermoplastic orthotic with open face cylinder grinders. Application of a variety of posts to thermoplastic orthotic. Finishing orthotic with a variety of open face cylinder grinders, flap wheel grinders, and cloth buffing wheels.

I was involved in every aspect of the bronze casting process. From enlarging maquettes to life size or greater, making silicone and urethane molds, pouring wax positives, chasing and spruing waxes, dipping shells for the lost wax process, pouring the bronze in a foundry I helped build, to chasing the final bronze work. I worked on many different projects ranging in scale and scope.

My duties as a production sculptor at Gladding Mcbean included: Measuring the original fragment from the architectural site, scaling the measured data to create an enlarged clay sculpture ready for plaster casting. Creating plaster profiles for sculpture foundation. Consulting with architects on detail analysis of work in progress for truly consistent historical reproductions to maintain architectural site integrity.
