My number one strength is motivating teams - I'm a connector, a Myers-Briggs executive ESTJ that embodies the adage of "take care of people and the people will take care of the mission."My passion for helping people began in the Boy Scouts, then as a volunteer firefighter at age 16 and earning an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification at age 17 which really helped shape my values. When it came time to choose a major in college - Nursing was that calling! Although I considered going the physician route, it felt like too much time in the classroom and not enough time at the bedside...making a difference. My journey is not even close to being done. I've had amazing experiences in the fire service, civilian and military nursing careers, but my next big challenge is about scale. I'm now looking to help even more people/victims with a bigger impact. It’s rewarding to use the jaws of life to extricate a victim from a mangled car, but it's even more impactful to create policy, for teams of caregivers, that can reach exponentially more ill/injured patients.___________________Mantras I live by:* First seek to understand - this one has saved my bacon numerous times.* When having to decide between two opposing options...great leaders will find a way to do both.
