Recruited to B&V as 1 of 2 senior leaders to develop Black & Veatch's Program Management & Construction Management business line in United States. Responsible for developing best practices, standards, technical solutions, developing project management plans, providing training to business development team and PM's and CM's, and providing advisory support to the programs and projects throughout the US. And implemented a web-based project management information system to support construction management and project controls staff. This corporate initiative was for a 2-year period targeting projects and programs that ranged from $250m to $1B in capital expenditure. The inititive was successful in setting the stage to win multiple contracts throughout the U.S. and today is a $100m+ (revenue fee) business line.During this period, acted as Program Advisor to City of New Orleans Water & Sewerage Board, Sewer Lift Station Upgrade and Rehabilitation Program. This program consisted of rehabilitating over 50 lift stations throughout New Orleans. My role was to implement the Program requiring client interface, developing the design and construction management plans, hiring CM team, implementing project management and controls software platform, training team, and overseeing project reporting and providing guidance to CM team. The Program was very successful meeting ALL of the consent order milestones and completing within the $60M budget. The Program required delivering the projects leveraging the local small businesses that ultimately consisted of 10 design firms developing 16 separate construction packages. This level of complexity in contract management provided our PMCM business line an excellent case study in project PM/CM implementation processes.
