Technical leadership, cost and schedule management, employee training and development, hiring, manpower assessment, bid and proposal efforts, IR&D leadership and project management.Sat on board and reviewed all areas of SS/Ls latest EPS redesign effort. This included the incorporation of 3rd generation Li-Ion batteries with 20% greater energy density.Implemented Visual management system.Participated in complete re-organization of the Systems Engineering directorate.

Responsible for the design, manufacture, test and subcontracts in support of all Control Sensor products (Gyro’s, Wheels, Star Trackers, Earth Sensors and Sun Sensors).Lead the effort to onboard new Star Tracker and Gyro technologies resulting in higher performance and decreased cost.Responsible for the design, manufacture, test and subcontracts in support of pointing mechanism products (Antenna pointing, Solar array drive mechanisms).Typically responsible for upwards of $50M of budget on a yearly basis.

Responsible for battery design manufacture and test of Li-Ion batteries and NiH2 batteries for Geo Com and International Space Station product lines.Lead the effort to bring Li-Ion batteries to SS/L’s product line resulting in a 50kg decrease in mass for the same energy storage.Delivered over 100 batteries for ISS.Typically delivered 14 – 21 Li-Ion batteries for SS/L Geo Com spacecraft on a yearly basis.Implemented DFx efforts to significantly reduce unit cost, ease manufacturing and increase employee safety.Typically responsible for $25 - $50M of budget on a yearly basis.

Responsible for the design and development of the Battery Charge/Discharge Unit and Sequential Shunt Unit used on the ISS. These two products form the heart of the EPS for the ISS. Managed technical design, manufacture, schedule, cost and earned value of products with a delivered value in excess of $200M.

Responsible for the technical leadership of Qualifying for Flight the SSU unit for the International Space Station. Completed qualification successfully and moved product into manufacturing for build and delivery of 10 units
