I was the project manager, construction supervisor, and volunteer coordinator for the Georgia-Carolina Council of the Boy Scouts of America and their change of office locations. I conducted the planning, coordination of resources, demolition and construction of the new Scout Shop which led to an increase in square footage for marketing, functionality, and sales. I coordinated and led volunteers, transported all of the office supplies, furniture, and equipment for the Council office with no loss of equipment or its functionality. I served as the supervisor and Program Manager for the Combined Arms Program for Distributed Learning (CAPDL) project with The Angelo Group in Martinez GA. I have the responsibility for planning, coordinating, directing, and supervising all activities for the CAPDL effort to include: program and project management, reviewing and tracking of internal and external tasks, personnel management, personnel evaluations, and employee professional development. I evaluated personnel actions and performance to form and implement strategies for enhancing effective training and day to day operations. I was responsible for the planning, training and worldwide deployability and employment of combat ready Soldiers and communications capabilities in support of contingency requirements. I enhanced planning and readiness within the unit which enabled the operations of brigade communications assemblages, power generation, systems, units, vehicles, and Soldiers. Throughout my time as the operations officer I resourced, trained and deployed three Signal Companies and one ESB for deployment in support of the Global War on Terror. All of the deployed units were successful in their respective missions and redeployed safely.

Small Group Leader and Lead Instructor for the Communications Officer Leadership Team. I served as the team leader for 2 NCOs and 27 civilians and was responsible for the BDE S6 Course, BN S6 Course, S6 Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) Course, Signal portion of the Brigade Combat Team Commander's Developmental Program, Intermediate Level Educations (ILE) Signal Elective (A340), and Digital Master Gunner courses. I was the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the design, development, implementation and operation of curriculum and training management. I was personally responsible for the development and execution of over 700 hours of leadership, automation, data communications, and tactical communications for approximately 300 U.S. Army Soldiers annually. I developed the vision and goals, and allocated resources to meet requirements for all of the courses for which I was responsible. I served as the principle adviser to the Battalion Commander for training and development of Battle Command related topics and all areas regarding Field Grade Officer development and BDE and BN S6 education. During my tenure as the S6 team leader, I developed, wrote and implemented a new Program of Instruction (POI) for the BN S6 course. I also designed, wrote, developed and implemented the POI for the BDE S6 course which is now the standard for all Field Grade Signal Officer training.

I was the communications officer for a light infantry brigade combat team while stationed in CONUS and forward deployed to Iraq. I was the primary staff officer for all things related to command, control, communications and computers. I managed the brigade’s automation systems and directed all information assurance activities as well as managed the life-cycle replacement of over 1500 automation systems. As part of a multi-functional staff, I worked across multiple staff sections to ensure all communications requirements were met or exceeded and assisted in areas outside of my specialty thus developing my cross functional skills. While deployed, 1st Brigade enjoyed an unprecedented 99% operational rate of its communications systems which significantly enabled command and control.
