I have always performed best under pressure. I thrive on taking the tasks others shy from. Meeting and talking with new people is no problem. I have organized and emceed events with over 450 people in attendance. Yes, I thrive in the limelight, but only because I am confident in my abilities, and in my judgment. I will never put myself in a position to fail because someone is always counting on me. My 28 year military career prepared me for just about any leadership opportunity. I live by the understanding that people are the most valuable asset of any operation or organization. I believe that managing and leading are two distinctly different abilities, yet the terms are often used interchangeably. Those who know the difference and when use one or the other are often the most successful. Yes, I do know when and how to follow too. It is a characteristic of all leaders.People generally respect honesty even if they disagree with you. Transparency is an action that characterizes a policy, it is not a policy itself. Trust is a resource, much like money. It must be earned and if used properly, will generate interest.You are always entitled to your own opinion, but never entitled to your own facts. Truth is a pill that is sometimes hard to swallow, but like any properly prescribed medicine, you will feel better in the end.I served 28 years in the Air Force. I retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. My wife is also retired Air Force. We are a team, an unbeatable team. I have an excellent retirement from the military, for now. I am still working because I chose to, not because I have to. It's called giving back.Bottom line...well, there is no bottom line because the balance sheet that is my life is constantly changing and growing. When I am finally laid to rest, you can then read my bottom line.
