Douglas has over 30 years' experience in the GNSS, Terrestrial and Satellite Communication industries. He has accomplished an outstanding track record for transitioning and profitably growing businesses as Director, Consultant & Investor and has extensive experience of executive level leadership. He was part of the Componedex management team which he helped grow into a global business prior to its eventual sale to Ericsson. Douglas was also a seed investor and board member of Helix Technologies until it agreed to a multi £M investment from Bloc Ventures.Douglas has considerable experience in all aspects of digital transformation and was previously Global Director of Ericsson's Maritime Business Unit. He has founded and run several international businesses in non technology sectors including Plain Sailing Ocean Racing (Stockholm), Environmental Research (Ras Al Khaimah, UAE) and Carpe Diem (Germany and Albania).Currently, Douglas is an investor and Director of CityEV Ltd (manufacturers of smart home, business and lamp column EV charge points), and sits on the Board of several other companies and academic institutions. Douglas' competitive endurance and versatility in business is strongly underscored by his distinctive list of personal sporting achievements. In addition to numerous wins on his way to competing in the UK Open Championships, Douglas holds a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Kick Boxing. He has founded two Kick Boxing academies based in London and continues to train and inspire others through his charitable work.
