The M.Eng program at Berkeley covered a unique mix of engineering and business to best prepare me for success in the tech industry. I was simultaneously taking high level bioengineering classes (such as Biophotonics, Principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and Computational Biology) and entrepreneurship courses (such as Marketing, Accounting, Tech Strategy, and Project Management). In addition, I worked on the Ocular CellScope Capstone Project, as described in the "Projects" section of this page.

At Lantos Technologies I did a great deal of research and development work involving developing materials, testing material properties, organizing and displaying data, and creating protocols for testing. I primarily worked with silicone and thermoplastic materials.

At Boston University I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. My studies focused on biomedical optics, materials science, mechanics, and transport phenomena. During my Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) internship, I worked in the Bouma Lab at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. There, I worked on a project testing the effectiveness of polarization sensitive optical frequency domain imaging using imaging processing and histology, and presented a related research poster. In addition, I attended multiple workshops and seminars relating to medical imaging technology.

I worked as an assistant technician in the Laboratory of Molecular Neurotherapeutics at the Boston University Medical Campus. My responsibilities included contacting vendors and ordering hundreds of items to help set up the lab.
