As a Retail Associate, I engage with customers about products and promotions to provide excellent customer service. I clean and organise the store, and prepare coffees, teas, and beverages of unequalled quality.

Planted and harvested crops for Camp Glen Brook's farm to table program. The mission is to serve students, staff and guests fresh vegetables, eggs, pork and chicken all locally produced on sight. I maintained, cleaned, and renovated camp facilities - including painting, building and window repair, construction, and lumber production. Finally, I assisted with stewardship classes, educating children about work and responsibility through experiential learning in a farm/wilderness setting.

Organised Pause each week, with the help of two other fellows and one of the Multifaith Chaplains. Pause is a 30 minute period of silence, broken up by music, poetry and dance. It is a quiet, vibrant space for spiritual, religious, and non-spiritual/non-religious people of all backgrounds to reconnect to themselves and each other through silence and art. I assisted with other Multifaith events on a regular basis, and recently conducted interviews for next year's fellows.

Researched Max Klinger, a 19th century Northern European artist. Wrote the introductory and accompanying panels for the Klinger exhibition at Bates College Museum of Art.

Assisted students with disabilities in the elementary school visual art classroom. Built curriculum with my host teacher, and taught class once a week.

Worked as a teacher assistant at the MFA Summer Art Program. Gained experience teaching across a number of artistic disciplines for children between 6 and 18. Taught several classes, with supervision from a professional teacher.

Taught English to Somali refugee adults. I also prepared them for the US Citizenship Test.

Tutored children of all ages, in a variety of subjects. Tree Street Youth is an after school program that serves underprivileged children, drawing a large contingent of its participants from the growing Somali refugee population.
