Equipment Subgroup (Esg)Dhs Interagency Board (Iab) 1998 - PresentThe Interagency Board (IAB) was formed in 1998 to meet the information demands concerning interoperability of public sector and Defense of Department resources during WMD events. Since its inception, the IAB has gown in scope to serve as an authoritative working group on "all hazards" equipment, standards, training and inter-operability and is currently funded by DoD, DHS, HHS, NIOSH, NIST and others.Douglas Wolfe became involved in the IAB in the Fall of 1998 and served as the Equipment Subgroup's State and Local Chair from 2005 - 2014 . This sub-group oversees the the management of the Standardized Equipment List (SEL) which is directly linked to the DHS Authorized Equipment List. In addition, the ESG identifies R & D projects of significant interest to the emergency response community and leverages opportunities for the development of nationally recognized standards. He continues to serve as an active member with the subgroup to this day.

Captain - Special Operations Program Manager (Retired)Sarasota County Fire Department Oct 1983 - Feb 2013Douglas E. Wolfe – spent twenty-seven of his twenty-nine years in the fire service in hazardous materials and special operations with the Sarasota County (Florida) Fire Department where he served as their Special Operations and Domestic Preparedness Program Manager. In the early 1990’s Douglas was trained by the OSHA Training Institute in the concepts of the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and Safety Program Management and served on his department’s safety committee. During this involvement, he implemented many of the safety programs and policies that are still protecting their firefighters today. As a Paramedic/HazMat Technician Douglas came up through the ranks as a with Sarasota County Fire Department. He went on to teach at the National Fire Academy (NFA) starting in 1994 as well as served as a Training/Safety Officer with SCFD for 6 years. In 2004, he returned to the line to continue working in a Special Operations at tactical and field command level until his retirement in February of 2013. He continues to serve the Sarasota County Fire Department and the citizens of his community as as a volunteer with the organization as a "Technical Specialist - Special Operations".
