ResponsibilitiesOversee a team of 12 to help UK companies access the UAE market and attract high quality inward investment into the UK. Fully responsible for annual business planning.Key Achievements• Increased bilateral trade between UK & UAE from £12.5 bn to £17.5 bn in four years• Fully responsible for the UAE-UK Business Council (UUBC) a CEO Forum which meets every six months. Companies include BP, Shell, PWC and others. The forum is underpinned by seven working groups.• Responsible for UK aspects of the visit of HE Sultan Al Mansoori, the UAE Economic Minister to London. Visit included a Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETC) meeting.• Responsible for the successful transition from UK Trade & Investment to DIT in Abu Dhabi• Key liaison with the British Business Group in Abu Dhabi, ensuring seamless working between business and Government

Korea

ResponsibilitiesAs Head of T&I led a team of 15 to promote British Business in Korea and attracting high level inward investment. Fully responsible for annual business planningKey Achievements• Increased bilateral trade from UK to Korea increased by 106% between 2010 and 2015 – the result of maximising the benefits of the EU- Korea Free Trade Agreement.• Responsible for a key report outlining 100+ opportunities to help British companies succeed following the EU-Korea Free Trade Agreement (FTA)• My team in Seoul increased UKTI revenue by 150% in two years, whilst increasing key success indicators to above 85%.• Fully responsible for all aspects of successful visits to Seoul by Deputy Prime Minister Lord Mandelson, Business Secretary Vince Cable, and DPM Nick Clegg.• I implemented Seoul’s UKTI award winning third country initiative programme, helping UK companies partner with their Korean counterparts, and mapping Korean influence in third country markets (The Gulf and ASEAN). UKTI award winner.• I delivered a report containing 40+ opportunities in the low carbon sector in Korea linking UK strengths to Korean needs. • Member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (BCCK) executive committee. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all membership activities in Asia Pacific, with focus on India and China. Also responsible for all trade missions to Asia Pacific. Key Achievements• Liaise with UK Trade & Investment, Foreign & Commonwealth Office on Ministerial, & VIP visits and other Asia Pacific work. • Led 12 seminar missions to the region including New Delhi; Mumbai and Kolkata; Chennai and Hyderabad; Kuala Lumpur & Singapore; & Chongqing & Chengdu; Guangzhou & Shenzhen and many others. Missions concentrated mainly on global sports, infrastructure, green building & design, and regeneration.• Responsible for working groups on Regeneration and Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources. Set up the climate change working group.• Responsible for the construction sector, liaison with the European International contractors (EIC) Association and organised the EIC General Assembly in London for 200 people from 15 European countries.

ResponsibilitiesAs Head of Trade & Investment led a team of 12 to promote British Business in Eastern China and attracting high level inward investment from Eastern China (Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang & Anhui).Key Achievements• Set up the inward investment team in Shanghai and persuaded the Shanghai • Overseas Investment Board to set up their European HQ in London.• Delivered the first UK inward investment conferences in Nanjing and Shanghai• Responsible for all aspects of VIP and Ministerial visits to Shanghai including the Trade Minister, The Lord Mayor of London (financial services) and Prince Andrew.
