I'm working on a hardware/software platform for my toddler son to be able to view HTML5 video in a durable hand-held computer with simplified restricted controls and pre-loaded content. I'm loving working with Raspberry Pi's GPIO interface and Python/PyQt. I'm very excited about this and hope to share more soon as I complete the prototype.

Developed feature enhancements and overhauled the packaging and installation process for a video-on-demand product deployed with major cable companies.Implemented cloud platform features in Go (golang) for improved service registration in Kubernetes/OpenShift.

At Kantar Media Intelligence I worked on the product development team, building business intelligence tools for media buyers and sellers.

At TruePosition I was the lead engineer on a new product platform which accelerated and enhanced GPS locations on cellular phones and similar devices via assistance data provided over the cellular phone network. Our flagship launch was for the Zoombak Pet and Family location device (http://www.zoombak.com), for which we provided the server-side location technology.Prior to this project I developed application code on Solaris and Linux for the company's existing E911 location product.

Design, implementation, and testing of features and enhancements for E911 emergency wireless location of 911 cell phone calls.

At MediaGuide I had a lot of fun programming streaming media servers and generally getting the back-end software to work properly. The less fun (but equally necessary) part was creating a reliable, repeatable build & deploy process for all the back-end software components. If it can't be repeated by someone else, is isn't DONE.

At Infonautics (later BigChalk) I started out as a Perl programmer in the data processing group. I moved into the search team in 2000 and enjoyed working on natural language search technology and distributed computing systems.
