Dual role of embedded firmware developemnt and technical product management. Designed C language embedded firmware for new KVM products – Autoview and Switchview. Extensive use of Intel 8051-based microprocessors, and Microchip PIC16C71. Duties included developing product requirements, achieving cost targets and driving schedule completion. Competitive analysis included attending industry trade events and training for resellers. Coordinated Beta programs. Led cross-functional team Manufacturing, Technical Publications, Training and Engineering Services. Selected Accomplishments• Engineering team lead that replaced incumbent vendor of KVM products at Hewlett Packard which secured business from the first major OEM company.• Developed firmware for industry’s first secure KVM appliance for use in government and financial applications. The Switchview SC resulted in over 210K sold. Company’s secure switch business grew to include several spin-off variants models available today.• Developed firmware for company’s first low-end KVM switch; Switchview, resulting in high volume sales for over ten years.• Developed firmware for next generation mid-range KVM switch; Autoview. The company’s first KVM appliance with On Screen Display menu. OEM custom variant adopted by BlackBox.

Developed C language firmware using the Motorola MC68302 microprocessor for controller cards that managed racks of digital transmission devices. Implemented user interface with device status / configuration management.
