The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for Force Protection Technology products including field service, training, and assisting in logistics engineering, support of spares and repairs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Observe safety procedures to ensure a safe workplace for personnel and equipment.2. Perform as the primary customer point of contact on fielded Force Protection Technologies systems. Investigate, correct and detect problems noted by the customer. Promote positive customer relations. 3. Interfaces with Quality Assurance for quality issues on fielded products, develops failure reports, product service and upgrade bulletins. 4. Provides long term and short on-site engineering support and coordination. Typical tasks include: servicing and repair and maintenance of parts and equipment; installation of service kits and replacement parts; performance of periodic inspections and on-the job training of customer personnel.5. Develops training materials, technical manuals and delivers formal technical training courses. 6. Instructs customer’s operations and maintenance personnel on inspection schedules, proper handling of products, adjustments, servicing, repair and maintenance of parts and equipment; installs service kits and replacement parts; use and interpretation of parts catalogs, handbooks, manuals, etc. 7. Assist in logistics support activities including maintenance planning, spares provisioning, MTBF calculations, and reliability & maintainability predictions as directed. 8. Assist in engineering responsibility for the integration, training and fielding of equipment into the customer’s inventory as directed.9. Perform site activation of customer maintenance facilities.10. Ensure applicable contract requirements are met.11. Control job and expense budgets to meet Management established budget / cost goals12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
