• Principle author of annual report detailing The State of Working Connecticut, examining employment and economic trends impacting the Connecticut workforce• Monitored economic developments throughout the state, focusing particularly on impacts on working families• Determined research priorities in consultation with Research Director and President, and in response to emerging policy priorities;• Worked closely with diverse range of local and state-wide organizations to craft strategies and responses to address state’s family economic security needs;• Worked closely with national organizations to advance progressive policy agendas at both state and national levels: Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), Economic Policy Institute/Economic Analysis and Research Network (EPI/EARN), CFED (now Prosperity Now), Center for Social Development (CSD), National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP), Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP), Voices for America’s Children;• Participated in collection, analysis (both quantitative and qualitative), and dissemination of state and local data;• Utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze data, providing visual presentations of information such as housing and homeownership data, employment data, poverty and income data, at state, town, and Census Tract levels;• Conducted research on matters such as tax expenditures, corporate income taxes, alternative tax proposals, the impact of the Earned Income Tax Credit, income inequality;
