About Douglas Holder

I’ve always felt that no matter what you do, you should always leave piece of yourself in your work. Take pride in what you do, push yourself outside of your comfort zone, and regularly challenge yourself. I started my career in games employing visual effects to facilitate the construction of meaningful and rich gameplay experiences. After completing work on Uncharted 3 I continued to push myself in this area. During the development of The Last Of Us I realized I wanted to contribute more to the overall experience of the player. Here I explored my potential in unifying my skills as an effects artist alongside my instincts and technical abilities as a game designer. In my time as a designer I’ve studied the world of 3rd person action adventures in Uncharted and the first person experiences of Call Of Duty. I endeavor to consistently test my limits working with talented people determined to create meaningful and engaging player experiences.Specialties: AAA Gamedev, Game Design, Realtime Effects for Games, Shader Writing, Gameplay Scripting, Python, C#, Maya, Reaflow Dynamics, 3DS Max, Unity, UDK
