Design, develop and maintain ontologies, knowledge graphs, intelligent agents and other knowledge based systems. Develop and maintain the architecture for the semantic technologies portion of the Ilium Interoperability Framework. Developed 11+ interoperable domain ontologies to support a variety of modeling, simulation and other engineering applications in the military aerospace R&D domain. Review and evaluate current research and in the discipline of artificial intelligence, semantic web and similar advanced software technologies. Provide consulting services to clients in business sectors ranging from oil and gas, civil engineering, entertainment to grocery services.

Manager of the ISX Command and Control Line of Business. Responsible for planning and direction of a multitude of programs that develop and transition advanced software technology focused on command and control applications. Provided technical and business liaison with Senior Officers and operational users in all US Services and the Armed services of Allied Nations (NATO) as well as members of the research community. Managed technology application programs ranging from large scale Distributed, Collaborative Planning Architectures for Joint Task Force Command and Control to demonstrations of Knowledge-based Planning, Decision Theoretic, and Machine Learning techniques to specific military problems. Consulted with two major clients in the Oil and Gas sectors to support petroleum exploration and production in North sea and North Atlantic. Developed and delivered two prototype knowledge based systems to support offshore operations in those areas.

Participated in operations analysis as analyst for the Advanced Tactical Fighter (F-22) and principal investigator for various classified tactical aircraft programs. Developed methodology for combining air-air and surface-air engagement models to permitintegrated analysis of combat operations. Served as a member of a select team of senior analysts to evaluate and recommend improvements to ongoing analysis, models and methodology. Served as domain expert for the Tactics Planner module to the Pilot's Associate Program. Promoted to Chief Engineer, Intelligent Systems Engineering Group for the Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Company “Advanced Systems Development Center.” Responsible for development of large scale Intelligent Systems applications in operational performance environments. Principal investigator in joint (multi- company) research into Intelligent Systems full-scale development methodology and process. Lead engineer in development of an intelligent tactical system designed to provide knowledge- based support for composite force integration and multiple aircraft cooperative tactics.

Operational experience includes three combat tours in fighter aircraft, service as a line fighter pilot in the European and Pacific Theaters, and in the United States as an Instructor Pilot and Fighter Weapons Instructor for both U.S. and Allied aircrews. Developed the complete air-air and air-ground syllabus of academic instruction for the, graduate level, F-5 Fighter Weapons Instructor Course. Served as an air-air tactics instructor in the USAF Aggressor Squadron. Selected to represent the USAF as an Exchange Officer with the Spanish Air Force. Served as Branch Chief for both the Range Scheduling and Current Operations Branches and was responsible for coordinating all training, test and classified activities on the US Air Force Range at Nellis AFB, Nevada. Was the Air Force liaison with the Department of the Interior, Department of Energy, Bureau of Land Management, Federal Aviation Administration, and various other Government Agencies. Retired with 20 years service as Lieutenant Colonel.
