Included in my remit were control room and nuclear power plant design, licensing, procedures, training, staffing, plans, during the power plant development. My objective was to provide a foundation for safe and reliable operation from a human performance / human-technology-organization (HTO) perspective. I used my expertise in the development of the supplier’s human-automation concept, Instrumentation & Control quality / qualification management as well as internal processes and methods for managing human-related risks and opportunities. I also supported further development and formation of Fennovoima's safety culture in close co-operation with Fennovoima organization, the authorities and the plant supplier. I also contributed R&D activities supported by the Finnish and Nordic nuclear industries.

Aircraft Level Human Factors In Maintenance And Health And Safety SpecialistAirbus Sep 2005 - Apr 2007Filton, Bristol, UkI was the sole specialist for Airbus UK responsible for human factors contribution to system safety and reliability, and health & safety in aviation maintenance. My responsibilities were transnational, multi-departmental, and encompassed all civil and military aircraft development programmes. I had a fundamental role in the development and implementation of the human factors in maintenance strategy within Airbus spanning Flight Safety and Maintainability departments. This strategy and associated processes were fully integrated into aircraft engineering processes (i.e. FHA, FMECA, FTA, Particular Risk Analysis, maintainability analyses) and designed to meet certification requirements. I also developed links with external organisations and universities to support human factors in maintenance activities. I conducted presentations on maintenance safety at international symposia and co-authored several journal papers. Highlights:• Development input into Airbus Safety Management System methods and tools for use by airlines and maintenance organisations internationally;• Delivery of multi-day seminars on safety management and safety reporting based on expertise in risk and safety management methods and tools, and their application;• Led the development, transnational implementation (including training) and operational support of processes used by engineers to identify, analyse and manage maintenance errors during new aircraft development in accordance with EASA CS Part 25.1309 aviation certification regulation;• Development of a process for maintenance-related occurrence analysis to provide input into the design process;• Human Factors in Maintenance task leader for the EU FP5 VIVACE project and contributed to the TATEM project. Worked on the ADAMS2 project for which Airbus UK was a work package leader. -
