At the Kuali Foundation I was a Lead Developer on the Kuali Coeus(KC) team. KC is an open source Java based web-application that assists educational institutions in applying for and managing grants and other related projects. It is built with Spring, OJB, JSP and Javascript. As the Lead Developer I was responsible for leading new development with 1-2 other developers, being a technical resource for other members of the team and doing general development on the project.

While at the University of Arizona I primarily was assigned to work on Kuali Coeus(KC) a Kuali Foundation software project building open source software to assist educational insitutions apply for and manage grants and other related projects. KC is a web based Java application built using Kuali Rice, Spring, Struts, OJB, JSP and Javascript. On the project I was a software developer responsible for implementing new features from specifications and other general development.

As a Systems Programmer Sr. I was the senior developer on the team responsible for providing services to students that ranged from computer labs, residential network access, to technology support such as Mysql and Subversion. I had the opportunity and freedom to help improve the teams processes through new development, such as designing and implementing new tools that fully automated the process of configuring computers after they were imaged, saving my team hundreds of hours each semester when the computer labs were being updated. I championed and implemented campus access to services such as Mysql and Subversion giving staff and students access to tools that the central IT department already used to build projects. I started a code and security review process on my team that was expanded to include projects across campus and built coding standards that were shared and incorporated into groups around campus. I envisioned and helped design a technical method for automated processing of copyright complaints on campus saving hours of time each week to locate, identify and process each complaint.
