Our team provided administration and maintenance for daily operations of 60+ storage arrays with 45+TiB over 3 separate major data centers. We upgraded the firmware on Brocade fabric switches (6505, 6510 and 8510). We zoned host and storage in a multi-vendor storage environment (IBM Storwize, IBM DS3500 series, NexSan and Infinidat) using Brocade Network Advisor and Cisco Fabric Manager for 16+ locations. I migrated management servers from Windows 2003 to Windows 2012 R2 and upgraded Brocade Network Advisor 11 to Brocade Network Advisor 14.3

I created scripts for installation of OS features, server configurations, applications and applications configurations using PowerShell and used Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager to deploy updates. I was the primary Server Engineer for the support of B2B Technology. This included everything from the hardware/VM Server thru the application. Our team re-designed the B2B infrastructure from the gateway to translator. We implemented IBM Sterling Integrator and managed a WebSphere MQ environment that handles 1.3+ Billion messages a month. I worked on the project team that transitioned from WebSphere MQ to ActiveMQ. I worked with EDI to setup 400+ outside customers for B2B communications through AS2, SFTP, and FTP. We worked with Database Administrators to optimize and tune SQL Databases.

I was responsible for Microsoft Server Technologies including File Services, Active Directory, Print and Document Services Exchange, SharePoint Server, and DFS/FRS Namespaces and Folders. I managed and supported Windows Servers, Desktops, Laptops, Printers and specialize peripherals used in banking. We virtualized 80% of the server environment using VMWare ESXi. I researched, evaluated, and implemented a backup solution that met federal requirements. I created scripts using VBScript and PowerShell to automate daily tasks, configure network cards, inventory software and hardware environment. I was a member of the Disaster Recovery Team responsible for creating and testing documentation

I managed a group of six team members who resolved 60% of the OS and 50% of hardware cases assigned to Data Center Support team. Our team coordinated and supported hardware replacement for servers’ worldwide in the Wal-Mart environment. Our team drove cases to root cause, presented this finding to Wal-Mart Server Engineering Team and assisted in the creation of a Plan of Action to resolve the issue. We implemented Security patch rollouts and firmware updates worldwide. We monitored and executed backups using Tivoli and Ultrabac backup solutions

During a time of rapid growth, our team expanded, maintained, monitored and supported Microsoft Exchange, Proofpoint, Trend ScanMail and Listserv environments growing to over 20 servers, 20,000 user, and 2600 public folders. It also included an environment of servers for 500 users of Blackberry, Goodlink, and RightFax. We managed and coordinated the integration of acquired companies’ (Hudson Foods, Food Brands, and IBP) email and mobile services. Our team implemented Exchange 5.0 with 500 users and over the next several years upgraded to Exchange 2003, supporting over 20,000 users. I was a member of the project team that implemented content and virus scanning. This reduced the about of e-mails going to the Exchange databases by 75%. This project also protected the company from possible harassment lawsuits. I wrote and maintained administrative scripts and programs for the daily operations of the Messaging group, using VBScript, Visual Basics, and C#. I converted a program that updated the external firewall with a list of acceptable e-mail addresses from DEC to Visual Basics, reducing the runtime from 4 hours to 1 hour and then again from V.B. to C# reducing the runtime from 1 hour to under 10 minutes.
