End Homelessness St. John’s (EHSJ) exists to prevent and end homelessness in St. John’s. Working collaboratively with St. John’s non-profit sector, business, government, the faith community, persons with lived experience and the public at large, EHSJ is leading the implementation of St. John’s Community Plan to End Homelessness.

Causeway achieves its mission through utilizing an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to developing, financing and providing a varied menu of social enterprises, financial support services and other programs and services to meet the needs of its clients and stakeholder communities. In this position I am responsible for the strategic direction of Causeway's social businesses and social finance initiatives as it fits within the overall organization's direction. My primary responsibilities fall under five main areas: Strategic Planning & Business Development, Program & Resource Management, Human Resources, Financial Management, and Communications.

Acting as a member of the management team, the role of Social Business and Supported Employment Program Manager is to:Develop and supervise all the functions of the Causeway social businesses under management including financial forecasting, budgeting & reporting, marketing, legal requirements, risk management, operations, liaising with partners & funders and material & human resources.This position is designed to strategically plan, schedule, coordinate, implement, evaluate supervise and in every way to manage all the duties and responsibilities of staff in the Supported Employment Programs. This role requires tactful skills to negotiate, manage and administer the service agreements with all ministry and community partners.

To date, Canada has lagged behind other developed countries in the creation and implementation of public policies which foster an enabling market space for impact investing. As a result the market for impact investing in Canada remains nascent, ad hoc, and with limited opportunity for scale and scope. While there have been calls for broad reforms to enhance the social finance and impact investing landscape in Canada, my project 'Enhancing the Space for Impact Investing in Canada: Examining the Potential of Equity-Tax Credits' will work to highlight the case for Canadian policy-makers to explore an incremental approach augmenting existing policy mechanisms, notably an equity-tax credit program, which leverages existing tax and regulatory frameworks in effort to encourage new capital for impact generation.

The Centre for Innovative Social Enterprise Development (CISED) offers a continuum of supports for social enterprise in the city of Ottawa, including access to technical expertise, coaching, financing, learning communities, training, and cross-sector partnerships.

MBAC 5017 - Economic Geography. This is a core course in MBA in Community Economic Development program at the Shannon School of Business, Cape Breton University.Specific emphasis placed on developing theoretical and applied skills related to understanding the spatial configuration and coordination of economic activities through commodity chain analysis, community-based analysis, data modelling and analysis, and mapping.

An initiative of Social Innovation Generation (SiG) at MaRS, supported by the TMX Group Inc., Causeway Social Finance, and the Government of Ontario to develop a regulated market connecting impact funds with social ventures in order to catalyze new investment capital geared towards improved social and environmental outcomes while generating financial returns.Responsible for conducting blended value analysis (social, environmental and financial), and guiding ventures and impact funds through their listing process in the Social Venture Exchange (SVX) initiative.
