• Developed production cost models using energy modeling software to study the operation of the JEA electric system 10 – 30 years into the future, and used the results to show the ability of JEA’s power supply strategy to meet the forecasted needs of its customers in the planning horizon• Developed capacity expansion models using PLEXOS energy modeling software, enabling JEA to perform Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) studies in-house instead of hiring a consulting firm• Completed multiple scenario analyses using PLEXOS to determine the most cost-effective and reliable future resource plans for JEA, and provided recommendations to management on next steps• Served as the project manager for the implementation of PLEXOS as the primary energy modeling software for the Resource Planning team, and led the transition from e7 Portfolio Optimization and PROSYM• Served as the assistant project manager for two separate IRP studies; providing critical data to the consultant, weekly updates to all participants, and coordinating and scheduling meetings to ensure the projects stayed on schedule• Supported the development of the annual Ten-Year Site Plan report and associated regulatory filings, ensuring JEA’s compliance with the state reserve margin and loss of load probability requirements• Trained new engineers on Resource Planning’s core functions and responsibilities, facilitating their smooth transition into the utility industry and effective integration into the team• Served as a JEA Ambassador, educating customers through solar tours and community engagement events
