I envisioned and implemented a transformational data strategy directly supporting the University's mission.In this role, I developed and aligned an organization-wide data strategy to shape the direction of a $6M capital and operational investment across the University to create a data-driven culture.I designed and staffed a new organizational structure for Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing, including new job descriptions, career ladders, desired skills, and critical success factors all based on industry standards and best practices.I drove numerous projects that led to improvements in the University's data sophistication and delivered quantifiable improvements in the University's capabilities in pursuit of its mission

I wrote regularly on various Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing subjects. Among the topics about which I wrote most frequently for Data Talent were Big Data, analytics strategy, and trends and developments in the BI & Data Warehouse industry.

Promoted three times, I held a variety of positions of increasing authority and responsibility related to the company's reporting and data services organizations. I worked for two years on a series of cost-reducing and efficiency-improving infrastructure projects, as well.I served for over nine years as the company’s “Business Intelligence Champion,” advising development projects on implementation strategies, best practices, and tool selections, providing thought-leadership and guidance to IT senior management regarding best practices in business intelligence and participated in numerous vendor selection processes as the data reporting subject-matter expert. I was responsible for over $2.5MM of budget for the maintenance and support of all business intelligence and data services systems in North America, supporting the regular activities of over 15,000 internal and external users.I led the BI Support Team and its 4 employees and 4 off-site contractors, delivering service to users throughout the company via Enterprise Data Warehouse availability, currency, and accuracy, and MDM support.

In my tenure with Logan/Britton, I was promoted twice and ultimately led client engagements to develop and implement ETL solutions for several large-scale data warehouses in a variety of industries, including banking, insurance, petroleum, and financial institutions.Notable among these assignments, I led a project to design, develop, and deploy over 200 ETL processes for the first comprehensive vehicle title and registration database in the United States.

I designed and implemented ETL jobs to support data needs of analytical and transactional business systems at Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages, also providing 24x7 support for critical ETL batch jobs. I employed JAD and RAD techniques to gather requirements for and design mobile sales application.
