Mr. Whitaker is the principal investigator for, and manages, the investigation services team. He is the primary contact and initial responder for the W&A response team. He coordinates with the clients to provide site inspections, evaluations and recommendations. He reviews a wide array of environmental issues as part of these forensic investigations for insurance losses and environmental litigation. He has managed loss investigations pertaining to fires, explosions, equipment failures, structural damage, building collapse, and natural disaster damage (hurricanes, floods, tornados, earthquakes). These losses have involved a variety of contaminates such as asbestos, lead, hazardous chemicals, PCBs, and microbials. Mr. Whitaker has performed inspections and assessments at hundreds of facilities across the United States due to water and or moisture infiltration and suspected microbial growth. He works in conjunction with W&A’s mycologist to determine existence, extent and source of microbials within facilities and the mitigation requirements. One of the key functions in many investigations is to determine whether the microbial contamination found is a pre-existing condition, not related to the loss.Mr. Whitaker has provided written testimony for litigation, and has provided expert testimony during insurance appraisals.
