To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven. I spent my high school and college years facing new challenges, experiencing new adventures, and absorbing all the knowledge and life lessons I could with those lyrics from the Byrd’s classic song ringing out in my mind. Now that September 2017 winds to an end I find myself preparing for most certainly a new season. After 45 years of very satisfying and challenging employment experiences I will be stepping away from the full-time world of work to retire. To everyone I have had the pleasure to work for or with and the many others that I have interacted with in those engagements, I say thank you for a wonderful ride.Semi-retirement might actually be a more appropriate description of what I hope to accomplish though. My competitive side of still boils. I will be looking for somewhere to hang my hat that is perhaps less all-consuming than what I am leaving behind. I am definitely in the market for a new position that will allow me to put all those years of experience and knowledge to use while leaving a bit more time for family, personal, and community activities as well.
