I love building things, particularly businesses, and am acutely aware that there is so much more to life and that "meaning" really really matters. It's the meaning that really makes things happen.I believe that social responsibility (personal and corporate) is a crucial part of what will make our future society work.... where business and meaning finally get together properly.Coaching is perhaps one of the most overused terms in the world .. but equally the most powerful tool we have.I'm a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an organisation that has been on the forefront of important thinking and action since 1754. Happily living in Bath, UK, having lived at various times in Canada, UK, France, South Africa, Denmark, and Germany.I have enjoyed being an adviser to startups and business plan competition judge in Scandinavia and a Hackathon judge in Bath. I love seeing what people are able to create and then helping them to make it real.Despite a career that started in connecting computers to computers my passion is connecting people to people (and people, ideas and money to each other)I enjoy public speaking and giving the occasional guest lecture to university students. On occasion I've even been asked back!Little known facts and 15 minutes of famelessness:I had a brief and spectacularly unsuccessful period as a wannabe actor- my first role was as a French Gendarme in The Black Stallion... first day, first scene was with Mickey Rooney I also managed to con my way into a couple of extra roles on 21 Jump Street and a role in a commercial. Well paid for sitting around with a beautiful girl in a nice car while getting filmed driving up to a mansion. ...Alas my fame was short lived...... ;)..oh.. and my home baked apple pies got more screen time than I did...
