Technology and entrepreneurship. Those passions have driven me over the past 35 years. As they say, life is a journey. My journey started with an interest in computers and a business degree. That led to working at a (then) large tech company, called Nortel. From there to a small tech company where my personal actions could have a bigger impact. There were tours of duty through corporate IT, strategic marketing, product management, and ultimately, sales. Then, through serendipity, I plunged into the world of early stage, venture-backed start-ups. I found my niche – helping shape and execute go-to-market plans, finding and closing lead customers. It can be exhilarating to adjust product, messaging, and the go-to-market plan as you go, and confirming the product/market fit by landing lead customers. It’s even more exciting when customer deals involve hundreds of thousands, and some millions of dollars, where large organizations bet on your ability to improve their business. Ultimately, I lived at the intersection of sales, product management, and marketing for many years; resulting in a unique perspective and pragmatic skill set helping start-ups get traction with new products, in new accounts, and new markets. Now, I share my expertise with entrepreneurs and the start-up ecosystem in the form of product/market fit assessment assistance, go-to-market advice, and pragmatic approaches to secure initial customers.
