I am a Canadian registered urban planner, and I am also the part-time Executive Director for the Trust for Sustainable Forestry. In the past I have been an owner of two planning and development consulting companies. At Scala Developments, we built innovative communities on Vancouver Island. With Living Forest Planning Consulting, over the past three decades, I have planned and built new towns and sustainable communities in Mexico, in Arizona, and in Canada. My 30 years of experience has given me expertise in 1) the fundamentals of urban planning and real estate, 2) planning for creative mixed-use, walkable sustainable communities/towns, and 3) how to protect forests through eco-forestry management plans and conservation covenants.As an advocate of Regenerative Communities, I delight in providing consulting services to land owners, developers or local governments seeking to conserve their eco-system functions so that they can be restored and healthy. We do this by creating affordable, beautiful, pedestrian oriented communities on a small portion of the land in order to finance the conservation of the lands around them.
