Dr. Doug Margel served as chief executive officer of Crystal River Organics, a company he founded that produces nutrient-dense foods for health-conscience individuals. Emphasizing the important of a nutrient-rich diet, Dr. Doug Margel published The Nutrient-Dense Eating Plan in 2005. This book provides a number of recipes and helps individuals transition to a healthier diet that includes foods with high concentrations of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. In his second book, Beauty from Within: The Surprising Power of Nutrition for Hair, Skin, and Nails, Dr. Margel explores the link between nutrition, physical health, and appearance.Since graduating from Western States Chiropractic College with honors, Dr. Doug Margel has taught at several leading institutions in Colorado, including the University of Colorado at Boulder and Colorado Mountain College.Recreationally, Dr. Margel maintains a passion for travel, especially in Asia. He has visited India, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, among other countries. In these countries, he especially enjoys exploring the impact of Buddhism, and he personally maintains a committed meditation practice.
