I spent 21 years leading Achievement First to grow from 84 students and 10 staff to 15,000 students and over 2,000 staff. What I’m most proud of:- Schools in all three of AF's regions achieved outstanding results. Some examples:o 8th graders at our seven New York City middle schools outperformed the composite average of the wealthiest districts in NY (e.g., Rye, Harrison, Mamaroneck, etc.) in both ELA and Math. o US News & World Report ranked AF’s two high schools in Connecticut #1 and #3 in the stateo AF Iluminar ES in Rhode Island was the highest performing school in Rhode Island- Spearheaded major, sector-changing innovations at AF: Athena (online interim assessment platform), AF School Report Card (measuring holistic school excellence with equity), Empower Academy (supporting students with significant special needs), Teacher Career Pathway (pathway from teacher-in-residence to master teacher with increasing recognition, pay, perks), Arc of the Year (targeted, highly effective PD and coaching sequence), Greenfield School design- Coached and developed over 50 leaders to become principals and over 10 to become regional superintendents- As a teacher in AF’s first school, supported 7th grade math students to 100 percent proficiency on the Connecticut Mastery Test and 5th grade reading students to over 2 years growth in one year.- Led with integrity, optimism, clarity, and love, developing and sustaining meaningful, lifelong friendships with colleaguesNow, I am a partner in a consulting firm that focuses on the following: - Helping schools, districts, and organizations run great schools through strong school management, instructional vision setting, and leadership coaching.- Coaching leaders in and outside of education to be the most joyful, confident, and effective versions of themselves
