Implemented Indiana’s all new Direct Ship program, which provided a one-stop location where new enlistees are processed, quality controlled and shipped to the U.S. Army’s basic and advanced training. I planned and coordinated Human Resource, Quality Assurance of paperwork and travel functions to support our enlistees prior to attending training. Ensured all Direct Ship enlistees were received, educated, processed and screened in a thorough, yet streamlined process that reduced needless pre-ship losses. Received and processed returning graduates from training and began the on-boarding process to transition these Soldiers to their respected units across the state of Indiana.• Maintained a Top 10 percent ship rate within the National Guard Bureau.• Helped Indiana have the best ship rate of any large state in the nation numerous times. • The Recruit Sustainment Program maintained a high % of Soldiers that completed all training.

Planned, coordinated and evaluated training for a light infantry organization of up to 135 individuals in both peacetime and a combat zone. Duties included developing quarterly training guidance, tracking long, short and near term calendars and publishing monthly training schedules. Briefed Commanders at all levels on quarterly strength and training results. Prepared and conducted Human Resource training for employees in the areas of Equal Opportunity, Sexual Harassment, Risk Management, Resiliency, Operational Security, Hazardous Materials and Safety. Frequently performed duties as a Guest Instructor for the Indiana Military Academy. OPERATION ENDURING/IRAQI FREEDOM Jan 03-Feb 04 - Acted as Infantry Platoon Leader during while attached to the US Army 5th Special Forces Group. My Platoon performed duties as a Quick Reaction Force in support of U.S. Army Special Operations Command. I was responsible for the morale, health and training of a 39 man Rifle Platoon. I was responsible for accomplishing the platoon's mission. Lead the platoon in supported missions. Planned missions with the help of the platoon's subordinate leaders and other key personnel. Stayed abreast of the situation and went where needed to supervise, adjust and accomplish the mission. During planning, received status reports from higher and subordinate leaders. Reviewed platoon requirements based on the tactical plan. Developed the casualty evacuation plan. During execution, checked the work of the platoon sergeant and the squad leaders. Responsible for the maintenance, accountability, and effective utilization of all of the platoon's assigned crew weapons, specialty vehicles, night observation devices, communications equipment and other classified equipment worth over $1,500,000. Counseled, disciplined, and developed Soldiers and Non-Commission Officers into competent leaders. Maintained the highest state of combat readiness regardless of conditions and personnel changes.

Performed Human Resource processing and back ground investigations for preparation for enlistment. As a Battalion Master Gunner, I planned, coordinated, executed and evaluated gunnery from initial to sustainment training for the Battalion's 54 Bradley Fighting Vehicles and crews. Supervised the training of crews and dismounted Soldiers, numbering over 600 personnel in the organization. Performed duties of the Senior Instructor/Operator for a sophisticated Conduct of Fire Training simulator. Senior Liaison with organizational maintenance personnel of the mechanical and electronic aspects of the firing system and weapons platform. Preformed upper echelon maintenance and repair of the electronics, hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems of all major weapon systems platforms. Prepared policy and Standard Operating Procedures. Advised Commanders of tactical capabilities against threat systems in coordination with local Military Intelligence personnel. Conducted briefings at the General Officer level, high ranking officials and to foreign dignitaries. • Graduated from the Bradley Fighting Vehicle Master Gunner course.
