I never imagined that I would find myself in a technology sales and business development role. But here I am. And I love it. I began my career as a software engineer for IBM and then led an IT infrastructure team serving MEI’s global employee population. As Executive Director for RockTeam, an award-winning IBM Premier Business Partner, I establish and sustain relationships with our clients that generate revenue while helping them optimize their technical infrastructure. Since assuming leadership, I’ve steered client base expansion and secured new $1M annual contracts. I’ve also fortified our internal processes and systems, instituting productivity and efficiency tools that make our billing, project tracking, and quoting efforts simple and intuitive. This has freed up our time to do what we do best—helping businesses of all sizes implement collaboration tools and social technology. Since 2014, I’ve volunteered with Social Connections, the largest IBM Connections user group. We plan and execute two major conferences annually, offering opportunities for product champions, advocates, and end-users to gather and network. I’ve also been chosen for two consecutive years as an IBM Champion for Collaboration Solutions. My experience as a system administrator and software engineer has made me a more effective business partner. Keenly aware of the challenges that IT leaders and front-line support staff face, I propose solutions with the client in mind. I also establish internal operations and processes that ensure my focus remains where it belongs—with the client.
