Client ManagerThe Athletes United Foundation 2010 - PresentOne of Doug's clients is The Athletes United Foundation which is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that was created to benefit children-in-need through programs designed to combat poverty and enrich the lives of youth.AUF provides a vehicle for athletes, business leaders and motivated communities to team up and help under-served children in their community.AUF programs support education, service-learning leadership, social causes, urban development, and a healthy balanced lifestyle.Programs provided by The Athletes United Foundation include:Nourish to Flourish - The goal is to be the signature fundraiser for schools and to give back to the community. The program is set up to streamline all the fundraisers the schools participate in by providing the schools with a higher profit margin to work from. In addition, for every 10th meal delivered AUF will donate one meal to an underprivileged child in your community. The Locker Program- This is a "giving initiative" that pairs athletes with community-minded schools and students to collect and distribute household items for the benefit of children-in-need. This service-learning program not only helps combat poverty, but also teaches children the valuable lesson of helping others. Harvest Edge - Partners with The Locker Program and the community to receive donations, use volunteers to go through and sort through the donations in our warehouse so that items can be distributed to those in need. The five things we collect are food, clothing, personal hygiene items, school supplies and shoes. Service-Learning Leadership - This is a program that Doug began in an inner city school where he had a heart to teach leadership to students who may not have the opportunity to learn about the value of business leadership.

Founder/Board MemberKicks For Kids 1995 - PresentShortly after launching KFK, Doug was joined by Jim Breech, who played at Cal and with the Raiders before becoming the Bengals' all-time scoring leader (1980-1992). Jim has continued to play an active role in KFK and has served on KFK's Board since 1996. While the fact that the game-winning field goals of these two men influenced the name of the charity, it is not the main reason they have joined forces. More important than their accomplishments on the gridiron, Doug and Jim share an intense concern for children and a desire to give something back to their community. As a result, the mission of the 501(c)(3) organization is to level the playing field for local children at risk. Made available to children who are challenged mentally, physically, or by the environment in which they live, these opportunities are provided through the organization's interactive programs, by fulfilling the special requests of individual youths, and through a collaborative effort with other local kids' organizations. KFK's 20+ interactive programs presently include: the Christmas Celebration and Great Outdoor Adventure; trips to the Bengals Training Camp, Cincinnati Reds games, Broadway Plays/Shows and Symphony performances at area theaters; Basketball and other Athletic Camps; our Field of Dreams and a Community Service program; College tours/visits and a Career program; Operation North Pole and courses/training around Art Instruction and Fitness & Nutrition.KFK has directed over $1.7 million into youth enrichment through its programs and the organizations with which it partners. The charity has positively impacted over 45,000 kids at risk!
