• Operate, Maintain and Upgrade Verizon’s global wire-line network directing a team of 2000 professionals. Manage +70M Consumer, Enterprise and Small Business connections across 150 Countries and 2700 Cities. Delivered.
• Improved network reliability through power infrastructure improvements, which was validated during Super Storm Sandy where 300 Central Office ran on internal power without failure for up to two weeks
• Expanded corporate wide change control system to capture all on and off network changes to avoid conflicts, which could impact customer service. Currently manage 18K change controls per month with a 99.92% success rate
• Implemented long-term Network Operations Center (NOC) consolidation plan using movement of work Union rules to shift work from Associates to Management. Plan collapsed 13 centers into 2 mega centers, shifted 500.
• Solved serious service issue for one of the top 4 Mobile providers, a customer using Verizon’s Switched Ethernet Service to perform T1 emulation for voice traffic and was experiencing sub-one second network dropouts..

• Managed 4000 field operations team supporting 40+% of Telecom’s revenue for Consumer, Enterprise, Small Business, Federal Government and Managed CPE customer segments.
• Performed 11% total employee reduction and 9% expense run-rate reduction and delivered improved customer service levels
• Supported major projects; 44th Presidential Inauguration, Gaithersburg 5E Switch Removal, Pittsburgh G20 Summit, and Digital TV conversions (274 total stations) without customer impact on 6/12/09 government deadline
• Implemented and completed removal of last 1AESS Voice Switch from Verizon’s network
• Operationally ran 50% of Verizon’s Data Centers including two running the NASDAQ Exchange

• Operationally responsible for all Video Hub Offices (VHOs) and Super Head Ends (SHEs). This included end-end broadcast delivery, video on demand, and ad insertion for all FiOS TV subscribers.
• Consistently delivered best in class 99.999% service availability using rigorous change management process
• Grew network during this period from one to sixteen VHOs and added 2nd SHE for redundancy. Handpicked operations team and expanded from 14 to over 350 video experts

• Full customer care responsibility for all service and network operations for DSL, Verizon On-line (VOL) Email/Portal and Fast Packet. Managed team of 600+ employees nationwide supporting $1B+ in annual revenue.
• Managed 50% annual growth while completely swapping out VOL’s Email platform (Openwave to SUN) and relocated data center simultaneously to accommodate future growth with no customer impact (10MM email boxes)
• Improved VOL’s external service benchmarking to first in the entire ISP industry

Responsible for IP engineering and network operations supporting IP, DSL, Dial Access and Dedicated Access. Managed team of 120 IP professionals supporting 35 POPs with 64 Terabits/day traffic with 400% annual growth and $120M annual revenue. Implemented LD IP network supporting DSL, Dial and Dedicated IP Access as LD regulations allowed.
