Like many, I lost my livelihood as a geophysicist in 2014 when the Russians and Saudis decided to have a price war. Since I am of a certain age, and nobody wants to hire a person over the age of 30, (but, heaven knows, there is no age discrimination because that would be a blatant violation of the Charter of Rights) I am now doing something I have dreamed of for my entire life; writing science fiction. My lifetime experience as a seismic interpreter in the petroleum industry gave me a firm grounding in science and in story telling, believe it or not (What else is a management presentation than a persuasive tale?). I write compelling and entertaining space opera science fiction with intricate world building, memorable characters, and so many plot twists that you will be on the edge of your seat until you finish. My stories focus on the characters’ humanity and the flaws that drive them to struggle through their mistakes to become revealed as real and memorable for the reader. If you are interested in discovering the worlds inside my head, you can check out my published works at https://www.prudenauthor.com, and download a free sample novella of my writing. If you want to buy me a cup of coffee, you can do that at https://ko-fi.com/dmprudenauthor .I have 35 years experience as a geophysicist in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (including tight gas and oil sands), Australia, Peru, Syria, Kazakhstan, India, US, offshore East Coast Canada, Canadian Arctic. For the last 20+ years I have been an in private consulting practice. My particular interpretive philosophy is to translate the geophysical data available into easy to understand geological and engineering concepts that can by employed easily by my clients. The purpose of geophysical data is to understand the geology involved in the project at hand. Geophysics doesn't find oil. It gives you the excuse to drill the well that will find it.Specialties: seismic interpretation, modeling, survey design, seismic stratigraphy, structural interpretation, seismic attributes, Multiple Attribute Anaysis, strategic planning, data management, project management, education and mentoring.Should I ever decide to resume doing geophysics, I will let you know.
Listed skills include Seismology, Geophysics, Stratigraphy, Seismic Attributes, and 14 others.
