I have retired from EY after a 38 year career with the Firm. My most recent role was in EY's National Risk Management - Independence Group based in the West Region in San Diego where I consulted with EY Professionals regarding independence matters. Previously, I was the Strategic Growth Markets Leader for EY’s Gulf Coast Area, the Venture Capital Advisory Group Leader for EY’s Southwest Area, Clean Technology Leader for EY’s Pacific Southwest Area and IPO Leader for the West Region. I have extensive experience serving companies in the biotechnology, technology, cleantech, distribution, manufacturing, and service industries ranging from early stage start-ups to multi-national, multi-billion dollar companies.I have significant experience related to:- SEC filings and registrations, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, and debt offerings- Complex accounting and auditing matters such as revenue recognition, income tax accounting, equity transactions, and whistleblower allegations.- Working directly with clients and the SEC on the resolution and formulation of responses to SEC Comment Letters and other technical matters. - Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404, complex control environments and varying degrees of operating effectiveness of controls.- Extensive mergers and acquisitions experience, having worked with clients on over 100 transactions. -Extensive understanding and application of SEC, PCAOB, AICPA, and IESBA independence rules.Our clients have made EY the leading Assurance provider in San Diego.
